Examine the functionalities of the product

The “Examine the functionalities of the product” task must help to define if the solutions meet the expected results

  1. User, Designer
  2. End users, smartification specialists
add
- Specification of the product and/or skecth - Does the provided smartified function solves the problem in the way the end user expected? add - Draft of the design and its components. - End user feedback on the proposed solution. If not ok it is necessary to re-analise the design constrains. add - (Mature) - (Mature) add - (Mature) - (Mature) add - Given the specifications of the user and/or a sketch, the designer will provide a rough design divided in components that can be manufactured. - The end user sees the proposed smartified solution and verifies if it meets the expectations, giving feedback. In case of negative feedback the user is invited to reformulate the identification of the design constrains (Analyse conscious and unconscious user needs) add
Select materials

The “Select materials” task must allow to choose the suitable materials (according to the demand of the user) to use for the modelling

  1. Designer, Manufacturer
  2. Smartification specialists, hardware specialists, co-designer
  3. Smartification specialists, hardware specialists
  4. Designer
  5. 3D printing Technical staff

- Mechanical requirements, colors and textures of the design - Different types of hardware for one given solution; - Different types of hardware for one given solution - CAD model, waste feedstock available add - Material especification - Materials composition (customized compounded if needed), preliminary recommended processing conditions - Have the real devices/hardware to be used on hand - Definition of type material add - (Mature) - (Emerging) - (Emerging) - (Emerging) add - (Mature) - (Emerging) - (Mature) - (Mature) - (Mature) - (None) - (Mature) - (Mature) add - From the components of the design and its structural requirements, and given a list of materials, a material and color is selected for each part of the design. - Given the material especification and prototype funcionailties defined, the manufacturer will choose a specific material for the prototyping. - The expert reviews the different possibilites of hardware/devices that can solve the user need and are compatible with the chosen furniture design. - The expert chooses the different possibilites of hardware/devices that are available. If the devices available are incompatible (dimesnsions and functions) from the chosen then return to the modelling steps. - Collect the waste material from the local sources. - Make pre-treatment process to clean the waste material. - Sort material by type/color - Stock the material - Update the inventory on the waste material usable. add
